Privacy Policy

Last updated: December 18, 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how StudioTCHoldings LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Groov mobile application and related services (the “Service”).

1. What Groov Does

Groov helps users identify vinyl records from photos, view album metadata, and discover and play matching music-related videos.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account and Profile Information (if you sign in)

2.2 Scan History

We store scan history associated with your account to display your past scans in the app. Scan history may include artist, album title, release year, thumbnail URL, format, and scan timestamp.

2.3 Cached Album & Video Data

Groov caches publicly available album metadata and video matches to reduce repeated API calls and improve performance. Cached data may include Discogs metadata, pricing suggestions, and YouTube video IDs with search queries.

2.4 Scan Metrics & Debug Logs

Groov maintains internal scan metrics for reliability and debugging. These logs may include scan timestamps, success or failure indicators, API error details, cache hit flags, response times, and raw AI response output used to identify records.

2.5 Photos You Upload

Photos you take or upload (such as record covers or labels) are processed solely to identify records and retrieve metadata. Images are not sold, used for advertising, or shared beyond what is necessary to provide the Service.

2.6 Support Communications

If you contact us at support@groovvinyl.com, we receive the information you choose to provide.

3. How We Use Information

4. AI Usage

Groov uses automated systems, including AI models, to analyze images and identify records. AI outputs are used solely to provide the Service and improve reliability. User data is not used to train third-party AI models.

5. Third-Party Services

5.1 YouTube API Services

Groov uses YouTube Data API Services to search for and display music-related videos. By using Groov, you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.

Groov does not use YouTube OAuth and does not access or store your YouTube account data.

5.2 Discogs and Metadata Providers

Album metadata is retrieved from third-party providers such as Discogs and cached for performance.

6. Data Retention

We retain data only for as long as necessary to provide the Service and support reliability and security.
